Forever Grateful

As many of you know, Thursday November 8, 2018 was the start of the Woolsey fire. It started less than one half mile from 187 Saddlebow Road. Alexis was on a work call when she saw the smoke. That was 2:45pm. From there it’s been a flurry of packing, evacuating, borrowing Laleh’s bed for a night, moving all our prized possessions into a Marriott and fearing what the future would hold.

After 5 days of living in the hotel, we were able to confirm that 187 Saddlebow Rd was safe. We had four trees catch fire, lots of debris in the yard, smokey smell and ash EVERYWHERE inside — but the house is intact.

Now comes the process of getting it clean and safe for the kids (and adults) to move back in.

We are forever grateful to the first responders that fought the fire and saved our home. We are forever humbled to know that we escaped disaster, while many of our neighbors were not so lucky.
