On Tuesday, I went to get some lemon juice out of the fridge and upon opening the door, the dairy\/butter doors crashed to the floor. \u00a0WTF?!<\/p>\n
Upon looking at the divider that holds the doors, it seems the little locking tabs that snap it into position, had broken. \u00a0Ugh. \u00a0 I spent almost two our looking for the part online, but GE stopped making the part some time ago. \u00a0I called GE’s appliance parts group and they suggested my best bet was to “keep an eye on eBay” … That was not what I wanted to hear.<\/p>\n
Then it dawned on me that I could make the replacement part. \u00a0After about two hours with my digital caliper and Fusion360, I was able to 3D print a replacement part that snapped in nice and tight and holds the doors. \u00a0 \u00a0Phew!<\/p>\n
